This guy just finished paddling the ICW from Florida to Baltimore in a kayak.

The really funny thing is that he averaged 30 miles a day. That's about what I average too. I feel like such a slacker.

Scott, This is a pain, I typed a response and it was eliminated it was easier to log on to the Admirals blogs. I have sent you several e-mail msgs and no answer, and suggested your stop at Old Lime. I don't think that I have neglected you as I tune in to your blogs on a daily bases. As for the pictures my comment concerns the quality not the quanity. Still waiting for a GOOD picture of the Admiral, don't forget that I have yet to meet her. Any how, have a good trip back to Baltimore. Cheers from the smoke filled northern California.
UB,
Amy doesn't have internet right now, but I'm sure she will be thrilled to read that you can't find a "good" picture of her on the blog. You know how women love to hear that photos of them aren't good. Especially ones posted to a public place on the internet.
Scott,
Meg and I will be honored to meet up with you at the Gem rendezvous, glad you will be able to make it. Too bad Amy will be gone by then, Meg really wanted to meet her as well. We are both looking forward to it.
Amazing story about that guy in the kayak. Don't forget he is just in kayak. When we travel we are taking, our restroom, shower, kitchen, bed, etc. with us. I sort of think of the gem as a houseboat with a sail. A houseboat cannot sail, and a gem can, so I think the progress we make is relative. I do not think Meg would be interested in a kayak trip of that magnitude, but loves the idea of doing it in the gem. But I do admire the "no frills, green" aspect of his accomplishment.
I do not know why UB is complaining about the pictures of Amy. I think the pictures are quite becoming of her. And I think I can comment as we did meet in person. I went to UB's profile, and found no information about him at all. No web page, no pictures, no profile, no nothing, nada. So I am complaining there are no "GOOD" pictures of HIM available from his profile.
Yah UB, like Lou said, where are the "good" pictures of you?
Lou, I'm very happy to have the conveniences of a house along with me on this trip. I guess that comes with age. The kayak dude's trip reminds me of some of the crazy things I did in my younger days.
See you at the rendezvous!
